Question

How could the following affect how these could impact pediatric, pregnant, and older adult populations considering pharmacokinetic principles?: Patients with normal BP that is <120/80 should be instructed to promote good lifestyle habits and then be reassessed yearly. Patients with elevated BP that is 120-129/<80 are treated with non-pharmacological therapy (NPT) such as weight loss and sodium reduction and are reassessed in 3-6months. Patients with Stage 1 HTN which is BP readings of 130-139/80-89 who DO NOT have Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (ASCVD) or an estimated 10 year CVD risk > 10% are also treated with NPT and reassessed in 3-6 months. Patients with Stage 1 HTN that is 130-139/80-89 who DO have Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (ASCVD) or an estimated 10 year CVD risk > 10% are also treated with NPT and a BP-lowering medication and reassessed in 1 month and if BP goals have been met then reassess in 3-6 months, but if after 1 month BP goals have not been met, reassure compliance to treatment and increase HTN medication dosage and then again, reassess in 1 month. Patients with Stage 2 HTN which have BP readings of >140/90 are treated with NPT and a BP-lowering medication and reassessed in.
