Group B Assignment Kari (G3 T0 P1 A1 L1) is a 26 year old Caucasian woman in her 34th week of pregnancy. Kari is admitted to triage with contractions every 5-10 minutes for the past two hours which are becoming uncomfortable. Kari was treated 2 weeks ago for premature labor with magnesium sulfate and betamethasone x 2 doses 12 hours apart. Beta strep (group B strep) cultures are still pending due to an error in the lab. Her assessment at 32 weeks gestation revealed Kari's cervix was posterior, soft, 20% effaced and a fingertip dilated. Amniotic membranes were intact but scant pink bloody show was noted on glove after examination at 32 weeks . No further regular contractions were noted until this evening. Kari has returned to the labor and delivery unit with painful contractions every 6-7 minutes, lasting 45-60 seconds duration. On admission Kari has a spontaneous rupture of membranes (SROM) with copious clear white specked fluid noted. FHT 155-165 bpm with some variable decelerations noted to 90 bpm. Kari is noted to be 4 cm dilated, 80% effaced and the fetus is at a 0 station on SVE. Identify stage and phase of Kari's labor at this time.
