Tamara was an administrative assistant at a security services company. She worked for both the information technology and the human resources departments at head office. Due to the restructuring of the business, Tamara's IT support duties were largely removed, and she lost the right to a bonus; although her salary was increased to reflect the amount lost (around $1,300). Her reporting relationship also changed: she was now reporting to a lower-level HR professional rather than to the IT and HR managers. Several months later, Tamara resigned and sued the employer for constructive dismissal.
