A water cooled compressor with air flowing at 0.1 kg/s enters at a temperature of 27C. The compressor work is 5 kW and the heat transfer rate to the water is 2kW. Use air as an ideal gas (Cp = 1.006 kJ/kg-K). Ignore changes in KE and PE.

(c) Write down the first law for the air in the compressor (4 pts).

(d) Determine the change in temperature of the air, in C (7 pts).

(e) If the change in temperature of the water is 10 C and there is no change in the water pressure, determine the flow rate of the water in kg/s., and water as incompressible (Cp = 4.2 kJ/kg-K) (7 pts).
