Consider three situations:

  • On the news recently was a report that a number of students at Lee's Summit High School in the Greater Kansas City region walked out of classes to protest the lack of attention by administration and teachers to addressing bullying of students who are in the LGBTQ community.
  • In the summer of 2020 students, parents and teachers in the Shawnee Mission school district (Greater Kansas City region) protested the transfer of an assistant principal from one school to another.  They thought he should have been fired for the way he mistreated students at the alternative school where he was assigned.
  • We have discussed Boulevard Brewery (Greater K C area) where sexual harassment was not addressed until several women went public on social media.
