OVERVIEW
For the Final Project, you will explore the relationship between healthcare reform and the iron triangle. You will examine past healthcare reform initiatives such as an initiative rolled out during Lyndon B. Johnson's presidency and a proposed expansion rejected by Congress during the Bill Clinton presidency. What other attempts at reform have had similar objectives? Which ones turned out well? Which ones did poorly? What trade-offs have occurred or may occur in future attempts at reform?
Write a 4000 word paper (14 pages) applying previous course readings and using external sources to address how current healthcare reform initiatives will decrease cost, increase quality, and increase access. You will examine anticipated challenges in achieving these goals and how these changes will affect an individual patient.
Include the following components in your final paper:
Abstract: Your abstract should be brief but explain the problem, your motivation for solving the problem, an explanation of your approach to solving the problem, and background information that will lead to your conclusions and implications of your answer.
Introduction: Begin with a thesis statement that states the focus of your paper. Then discuss the three to five key points that your paper will explore.
Body of paper: Discuss each of the key points outlined in your introduction, providing detailed research from the study materials provided for you in the modules and including any other academic research you have conducted. Be sure to use proper APA format for all citations.
Summary: Wrap up the concepts you've discussed, and summarize the main ideas you have discussed throughout the body of the paper.
Conclusion: Transition to the ending of your paper and provide final thoughts on what recommendations you have or what you think the future landscape will look like.
References: Include all sources you used (both from module study materials and any additional sources) in a separate References page. Follow APA format.
