I chose to engage in two activities for my development project. First, I plan to read the leadership book The Go-Giver Leader by Bob Burg and John David Mann, and I will practice daily meditation with journaling/reflection.
Reading a book on leadership (The Go-Giver Leader) is an excellent way for me to learn more about the topic and gain insights into how successful leaders think and operate. I will plan to read for 30 minutes for five days for two weeks and then journal thoughts. I will explore the material in depth and reflect on how I can apply it to my life and career. I plan to buy an e-book because it is easy to purchase. Next, I will meditate for 10 mins every day for a week. Meditation is a great way to focus on the present moment and to quiet the mind chatter that can often lead to feelings of stress and anxiety. By setting aside time each day to practice meditation, I will be able to focus on my strengths and weaknesses and areas where I would like to see improvement. After meditating, I will journal my thoughts to explore any insights that arose during the practice.
