Time magazine named Greta Thunberg their person of the year for 2019 for her activist work on climate change. Watch Greta Thunberg's TedEd video, Save The World By Changing The Rules. Ms. Thunberg talks about the Paris Agreement and the conditions outlined in that agreement for countries to reduce their carbon emissions as well as the impact of individuals on carbon emissions by eating meat and dairy. Listen to her speech and create a list of "facts" or examples she provides such as eating meat and dairy contribute to carbon emissions or that Sweden must reduce their carbon emissions by 15% each year. You should come up with about 7-8 different facts or examples. Then do some "fact-checking". For instance, does eating meat or dairy really contribute to climate change? Find reputable sources that either confirm or disprove her claim. A reputable source is usually one from a government or educational website. Other websites may be reputable, but you will want to put them to the CRAAP Test. Check the website for currency, accuracy, purpose and authority.
