In a healthy lake, the Light bottle has time for theaccumulation of oxygen created during photosynthesis, would havethe highest level of oxygen.

During one test periodl in the past, our tests revealed that thebayou did not contain any dissolved oxygen. Lack of oxygen resultedin the death of heterotrophic organisms. Fish are heterotrophic andthus the bayou experienced a fish kill. The fish were small andhard to see, but the resulting smell was not. The chlorophylllevels were low in the bayou and light bottle, also did not have anincrease in oxygen upon incubation. What processes were occurringat high levels in the bayou?
