According to the Fair Labor Standards Act(FLSA), the workweek ordinarily includes: " all time during which an employee is necessarily required to be on the employer's premises, on duty or at a prescribed workplace"(Fact Sheet #22: Hours Worked Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), 2008). No matter Suzy is a part-time employee or full-time employee, she is a formal employee of the company. If she is not allowed to punch in her timecard when she goes to her company and starts the job, her actual work hours have not been taken into account. The employees should earn wage since he/she comes into the office and start to make a contribution to the company. I believe they qualify for overtime pay If all work hours are included. It is wrong that the company has a policy of not compensating two employees at the same time.

Regarding what the manager said to Suzy, can't it be considered as a threat to the employee? Does it against the employment law? If so, which law.
