In our current society the three leading generations spearheading our workforce involves individuals from the x, y, and z generations.
It is the role of HR to properly accommodate the generalized needs and wants for each generation, a blog post regarding this topic explains some of the needs and wants and bellow lies a summary of said needs and wants.
Starting of with Gen x, Gen x is the oldest out of the generations being studied today, Gen x had faced significant shaping events including the cold-war, the rise of personal computing, and feeling lost between the gen y and gen z. Some bonuses and features that may cater to this audience can include aids in order to help pay of debt which includes mortgages and student loans, health care plans which can be used by members of their respective family, as well as a stable retirement plan.
Next Gen y, Gen y is the second oldest out of the generations being studied today, Gen y had faced significant shaping events including the great recession, the introduction of the internet, and 9-11. Some bonuses and features that may cater to this audience can include aids for student debt, as well as aid on top of leases or rent this would be useful as it is thought gen y chooses access over ownership.
Finally Gen z, Gen z is the youngest out of the three analyzed workforce generations, Gen z has faced significant shaping events including the introduction of smartphones, social media, living in a land of peace, as well as witnessing financial mishaps from the other generations.
