1. You are in your last semester of school, about to graduate with a paralegal degree, and you plan to begin looking for a job. Government practice would give you job security; a corporate law department would be interesting and provide opportunities for advancement; a legal aid office would give you the feeling that you were helping others; a private law office would be exciting and fast-paced; and being a freelance paralegal would let you be your own boss. What type of job would you select, and why?

2. Interview two legal professionals in your area. Find out about their jobs and the firms that they practice in, such as how many attorneys each firm has, what practice areas they specialize in, what types of jobs/positions are included in their "legal team," whether or not they use paralegal in their practice (and if so, what tasks the paralegal perform), what is the legal structure of the firm (e.g., partnership, professional corporation, etc.), how the firm is managed, and what type of clients the firms serve or target. Prepare a report regarding your findings.
