Question
1. As we know from the previous lectures that sampling is figuring out what population would best provide us with information regarding our topic. There are several different ways to obtain sampling such as convenience, purposeful, and my favorite snowball. I think a great point made in the video was how data saturation tells us when we have collected enough information that represents the theme that is related to our topic of interest. So, what data collection techniques would you use to ensure that we no longer hear new things come up and establish data saturation with our qualitative research?
2. While listening to the lectures, I learned about the different approaches for qualitative studies. There will be different approaches depending on what they are trying to determine. Something that was mentioned was that quantitative data can also be gathered from case studies. Since qualitative research is used to develop theories and quantitative is used to confirm these theories, does this mean that case studies are more reliable than the other approaches?
