OSHA's Personal Protective Equipment Standard requires employers to assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present that necessitate the use of PPE. Based on the assessment, appropriate PPE must be selected and provided to affected employees. Use Subpart I Appendix B as a guide. Conduct a hazard assessment for your workplace using the hazard assessment checklist provided. Use the other sections of Subpart I to help determine the appropriate PPE for each hazard. If you do not have a workplace, you are permitted to select a workplace you are familiar with (e.g., an administrative office, construction site, etc.) to use for your assignment. In addition to completing the hazard assessment checklist, please provide a summary of your workplace, your findings, and challenges in your workplace regarding personal protective equipment.
