We will be looking at the following three things; Assassination, Reconstruction and the Radical Republicans. Read about Lincoln's assassination and those involved in the conspiracy. Lincoln had ideas on how he wanted the peace to be administered and the Union reunited, but after his assassination things did not go that way, but instead a spirit of retribution and opportunism took over. Also find out who the radical Republicans were and what agenda they had for the South. I will have some questions about these areas to be answered over the next two weeks. Don't forget to send me your book reports.
