In a meeting held in the city of Wilkes-Barre council regular session, the mayor, councilors, and residents in the community gathered to deliberate on topics such as street lights, sanitary issues, and some legislations on housing need to be passed. Particular of note in the meeting was a concern raised by a resident about the street light installation; he mentioned that he is aware it's for safety, but then he's questioning if it's a priority in the list of things the community needs. He further said that it would be the right thing for the residents to be carried along in some of the decisions the council makes; that's the reason they are part of the session. Another discussion was about the sanitary condition of the community. Mr. Jackson expressed satisfaction with introducing and implementing a sticker that helps residents handle the trash and get rid of them a little bit easier. He also touched on amending legislation regarding housing and property development as rents are rising, and some houses don't even have utilities when you rent. After discussing and questioning the merits and concerns of each topic, attendees were asked to vote whether to approve the request through verbal votes of "yay" for approval or "nay" for disapproval.
