Kent is a 45 year old, recently divorced male with 2 children. He has a full time job as an executive at a pharmaceutical company. His employer suggested he see you because there has been a change in his work performance. He was always very relaxed, happy, joking with fellow co-workers. Now he is tense, worried, and short-tempered. He admits to being constantly worried.

He worries about money, the children, losing his job, being injured and becoming disabled, his children not getting into college, or they might get in to college and he might not be able to afford it, and so on. But he assures you that he is able to control the worry with smoking and drinking. He really just wants to get back to work before his boss fires him or he has more work piled up than he can get to.

What advice would you give him?
