The chapter discusses several professional organizations that have established codes of ethics for the various helping professions. The human service professional ethical standards are guided by the National Organization for Human Services (NOHS). Incorporating ethical considerations in the workplace is paramount to the human service professional. Violations can result in disciplinary actions or even dismissal.
