A 28yo Hispanic F presents today with RLQ abdominal pain that concerns you for appendicitis. You ordered a CT abdomen/pelvis with contrast. However, she is very worried to do the scan because she is very allergic to all iodine. Last time she ate shrimp she "blew up like a balloon and had to come to the ER for adrenaline shot" and is very worried about the CT contrast. The CT tech is asking you to order the CT scan without contrast. You should do this to protect the patient.
