A solution is 0.0010 M in each of the following cations; Ag+, Hg2 +, and Pb +2. The Ksp values for AgCl, Hg2Cl2 and PbCl are 1.8x10^-10, 1.2x10^-18 and 1.7x 10^-5 respectivly.

1. What is the concentration of Cl- needed to begin the precipitation of each cation?

2. As dilute HCl is added, the concentration of Cl- is increased. Which chloride salt precipitated first? Which precipitated last?

3. What concentration of Cl- is needed to precipitate as much Ag+ and Hg2 +2, as possible without precipitating the Pb+2?
