A solid shaft L 1.9 m long is supported between two bearings. The shaft rotates at 250 rpm. A 20 degree involute gear with PCD 312mm pitche circle diameter is keyed to the shaft at a distance of 150mm to the right of the left bearing. Two belt driven pulleys Pulley 1 and Pully 2 are located on the shaft at a distance of 500mm and 1200mm respectively to the left of right hand bearing. The diameter of Pully 1 and Pully 2 are 720mm and 586mm respectively. A power of 52Kw is supplied through the gear, out of which 60% is taken off at Pully 1 and remaining 40% from Pulley 2. The drive from Pully 1 is vertically downwards, while for Pully 2, the drive is horizontal. In both the cases, the belt ratio is 2 and the angle of overlap is 180 degrees. The factor of safety is 2.5 and Yeild strengh is 300 Mpa.1-Determine the sections where failure may occur2-Drawa-Torque diagramb-Horizontal and vertical bending moment diagramc-Resultant bending moment3-Determine the diameter of the shaft using TRESCA and Von Mises-Henky failure Develop C++ code to determine the diameter
Calculate real gas pseudopressure at a pressure of 1902.7 psia using the following data and a base pressure of 102.7 psia. Was the calculation of real gas pseudopressure necessary for this gas? Explain your answer.
this would provide you with a set of Reynolds numbers. Next, using the integral method, determine the velocity profiles within the boundary layer to be followed by determination of the heat transfer coefficient values for your selected Reynolds numbe..
A successive approximation ADC has 4 bits and a reference voltage of 10 V. If the input voltage is 2.8 V, describe each step the ADC undergoes to determine the value of the 4 bits. What input voltage will be computed by the ADC?
What is hogr? How much steam pressure is required to maintain adequate vacuum with it? Where are hogr used in general?
A motorist enters a freeway at 36 kph and accelerates uniformly to 90 kph. From the odometer in the car, the motorist knows that she traveled 0.20 km while accelerating. Determine a.) the acceleration of the car, b.) the time required to reach 90 ..
write an appraisal of mathcad including a comparison with mathlab. describe another feature of mathcad, giving examples of how it can be used.
A Pitot-static probe connected to a water manometer is used to measure the velocity of air. If the deflection (the vertical distance between the fluid levels in the two arms) is 7.3 cm, determine the air velocity. Take the density of air to be 1.2..
Employing the ideal gas model, determine the change in specific entropy between the indicated states, in Btu/lbmol?ºR. Solve 2 ways: Use the appropriate ideal gas table AND also by using a constant specific heat value.
Determine maximum total bending moment (static plus dynamic) of the beam under steady-state conditions.
