A small experimental rocket which has a mass of 70 kg is accelerated at a rate of 6 m/s2. Determine the total force required for the following two cases (a) the rocket is moving horizontally and (b) the rocket is moving vertically upwards. Neglect any frictional effects and assume that the local gravitational constant is 9.45 m/s2. Determine the answer in both SI units (Newtons) and English units (lbf).
