Consider a simple model of an automobile driver following another car on the highway at high speed. The model shown in Figure E9.20 incorporates the driver's reaction time, T. One driver has T = 1 s, and another has T = 1.5 s. Determine the time response y(t) of the system for both drivers for a step change in the command signal R(s) = -1/s, due to the braking of the lead car.
