A satellite is in a circular orbit around the earth. The period of the satellite is 22 hr.
1 Calculate the radius of the orbit of the satellite. Data: Mass of the earth = 5.98 times 1024 kg.
Uniform circular motion means that the satellite is accelerated towards the center. The acceleration can be obtained from the law of gravity and the 2nd law combined.
2 What is the speed of the satellite?
