A round copper rod sticks through the insulated wall of a tank of hot water and into the air inside the room. The diameter of the rod is 12mm and the copper rod extends 100 mm off either side of the tank wall. The temperature of the hot water in the tank is Twater = 80 degrees C and hwater = 650 W/m^s K . The temperature of the air in the room is Tair = 20 degrees C and hair = 10 W/m^2 K. Find the rate of heat transfer through the rod from the water in the tank to the air in the room.
