A refrigerating plant using Refrigerant 134a as the refrigerant operates between an evaporator pressure of 1.0637 bar and a condenser pressure of 13.174 bar. The refrigerant enters the compressor as saturated vapour and leaves the condenser at 35°C. Assume the compression is isentropic.

The swept volume of the compressor is 0.35m3 and its volumetric efficiency is 81%. The compressor speed is 412 revs/min.

a) Sketch the cycle on a pressure-enthalpy diagram
b) Calculate:
(i) The mass flow rate of refrigerant (kg/s)
(ii) The Coefficient of Performance (COP)
(iii) The cooling load (kW).
