A pump steadily draws water from a pond at 20 lb/s. Pressure at the inlet is 14.7 psi ,the temperature is 68 degrees F and the velocity is 10 ft/s. At the exit the pressure is 20 psi, temperature is the same at 68 degrees, and the velocity is 40 ft/s. The outlet is 50 ft above the inlet. Determine the power required by the pump in both Btu/s and hp. Local gravity is 32.0 ft/s^2.
