A printing company produces two free publications that consumers can pick up at local retailers and restaurants. The company makes money through the sale of advertising space within the publications. The cost of the LinksLetter is $50 per thousand copies. The cost of the Ragged Edge is $100 per thousand copies. Both publications are produced on the same printing press. The LinksLetter requires 1 hour per thousand copies to print, while the Ragged Edge requires only half an hour of printing press time per thousand copies. The total printing press time available next week is 120 hours. Both publications are folded in a folding machine that folds both publications at a rate of 1,000 per hour. The printing company wants to use all the time available for the printing press while minimizing the cost of the publications produced. Determine the mix of publications to be printed and the minimum cost to print them.
