A large conducting ball with mass 3 kg has a net charge of +50 C. A smaller conducting ball with mass 2 kg has a net charge of +10 C. You touch the surfaces of the two together. What is the final distribution of charge between them?

(a) No change: the large ball still holds +50C and the small ball still holds +10C of charge.

(b) The final charge is proportional to their mass: the large ball has a charge of +30C and the smaller ball has a charge of +20C.

(c) The smaller ball transferrs all its charge to the larger ball, so the two have charges of +60C and 0C.

(d) Both balls end up with the same charge: +30C.

(e) It is impossible to determine without also knowing the size of the balls.
