A common laboratory reaction is the neutralization of an acid with a base. When 60.0 mL of 0.25 M nitric at 24.5 degree C is added to 60.0 mL of 0.275 M NaOH at 24.5 degree C in a coffee cup calorimeter, the temperature of the mixture rises to 30.5 degree C. The specific heat of the solution is 4.15 J/g degree C and its density is 1.025 g/mL. The heat capacity of the calorimeter is 25.6 J/degree C. What is the heat of the reaction per mole of acid?
