A centrifuge is used to remove solids from a 14.0 ppg mud using 8.33 ppg water. The mud and water enter the centrifuge at 40 gpm and 20 gpm, respectively. The underflow and overflow densities are 23.0 ppg and 10.0 ppg, respectively. Determine the amount of bentonite, water, barite, and additive needed to maintain constant mud properties if the mud contains 25 lb/bbl bentonite and 11 lb/bbl additive.
