You will work individually and from the perspective of a computer scientist to recreate different games each week. You will explore a game through the lens set up by the weekly material.
Games of all kinds are the result of a process that involves creativity, logic, and simple common sense. When it comes to games, we often do not pay much attention to the steps involved in or the time spent in their creation. This type of assignment will lead you through the thought process of recreating games.
In each week, you will create and submit a 2- to 3-page report in a Microsoft Word document, addressing the following:
A brief explanation of the computing concepts to be modeled.
A brief explanation of how the game functions, if the game was created by you.
A brief explanation of the original game on which you have based your assignment, if the game already exists.
A brief explanation of how the game was integrated with the concepts of computing, if the game already exists.
Three scenarios of game play including:
The setup of the game.
The desired outcome.
A sample game for each scenario.
Recreating a Game Mapping to an Automata
From the perspective of a computer scientist, work individually to recreate a game that can be mapped by automata. This means the game will have a finite set of states (for which certain conditions are true) and an exit condition. Hangman is good example that you can use for this assignment.
Create a 2- to 3-page report in Microsoft Word document about the description of the game recreated by you and define the automata for how a player makes a move.
Your report should include the following:
A brief explanation of the computing concepts to be modeled.
A brief explanation of how the game functions, if the game was created by you.
A brief explanation of the original game on which you have based your assignment, if the game already exists.
A brief explanation of how the game was integrated with the concepts of computing, if the game already exists.
Three scenarios of game play including:
The setup of the game.
The desired outcome.
A sample game for each scenario.
A video codec has to digitize an analog video signal
: A video codec has to digitize an analog video signal that is band-limited to 5 MHz. If each sample of the video signal has to be encoded into one of 512 possible levels, and no compression techniques are used, the codec will generate a video bit rate..
