A 4 lb block with an initial velocity of 5 ft/s is sliding down a 30 degree slope before being slowed by a spring. If the coefficient of friction between the blockand the slope is ?k = 0.3 and the spring constant is k=4 lb/ft find the velocity of the block when the spring has compressed 1 ft.

Question:

1. What is the work done by gravity on the block?

2.What is the work done by friction on the block?

3.What is the work done by the spring on the block?

4. What is the velocity of the block when the spring has been compressed 1 ft?
