Learning Outcome 1: Identify the scientific principles behind a range of engineering systems.
Learning Outcome 2: Apply CDIO (conceive, design, implement, operate) to design and build engineering applications.
Learning Outcome 3: Conduct investigations in order to understand large scale engineering processes and principles.
Learning Outcome 4: Work effectively in a team to achieve engineering goals.

The full project is about a rocket design to carry an egg size inside of the rocket starting from the design, material cost, electrical components to monitorize the altitude speed and all the values.

Assignment Overview:

You are required to tackle a real-life technical project as part of a collaborative team, with a specific role within that team.

Week 1 - Applying for a role
The various projects listed on Canvas feature several roles (e.g.Project Manager, Business Analyst, Designer). You should:

- Read and understand the requirements of each potential project
- Read the requirements of each role

Once you are familiar with the above, you should apply for 2 roles (1st choice and 2nd choice). The module leader/team will allocate 1 role to each student, based on their preferences and skills.

Week 2 - Meet your team and start work on selecting a project
From week 2 you should start meeting up with your team and select the team's preferred list of potential projects and submit the team's Project Application Form.

Week 3 - meet your team and start work on the project requirements
start work on the project as per:
- Projects requirements
- Your role description
- All procedures relevant to your job description
- And according to your Project Manager's plan of action.
It is the Project Manager's responsibility to arrange meetings (i.e. set a date/time and invite all team members to attend).

Project Management

Gantt chart - Project Planning
A detailed chart and list of planned work to be completed should be produced, which should include the following information:

- Unique task numbers and predecessor structure in place for optimum delivery of the project outcome at the due date.
- Description of the work
- Task Start and End dates
- Allocated resources

Risk Assessment
A project risk assessment report should also be written:

- Identifying Possible risks to the successful completion of the project
- Impact on project (delay, cost etc.)
- Possible mitigation solutions to identified risks.

What to submit
- A completed form and any supporting information as deemed necessary

Project Design

Choosing the relevant technologies
You should write a short report (max 2 sides of A4) justifying the technologies you have decided to use to implement the project requirements, including:

- An account of all the technologies available and suitable for the job (e.g. different materials, manufacturing processes, components etc.)
- A justification of the technologies you have chosen
- The risks/limitations, if any, associated with the chosen technologies

What to submit
A written report

Implementing functional requirements
You should implement all functional requirements as per the given functional specification.

Use of Version Control
You should commit your design solutions regularly to a Version Control system.

Commenting on your design
Collaboration amongst designers is greatly helped by the use of comments that explain certain key sections and functions of your design. You should always provide comment on design solutions as part of this assessment.

What to submit
- Design solutions, highlighting sections that you have produced
- Design sketches & drawings, cad models and developmental documents showing your
comments. NOTE native 3D software files are not required only screen dumps or PDF images

Choosing the relevant Manufacturing technologies
You should write a short report (max 2 sides of A4) justifying the Production/Manufacturing technologies you have decided to use to implement the customer requirements, including:

- An account of all the appropriate manufacturing technologies available
- A justification of the technologies you have chosen for manufacture of the selected design
- The risks/limitations, if any, associated with the chosen technologies

What to submit
A written report

Implementing functional manufacturing requirements
You should implement all functional manufacturing requirements as per the agreed specification/design.

Use of Version Control
You should commit your manufacturing solutions regularly to a Version Control system, determined by the team.

Embedded Electrical / Electronic Design
You should provide some designs showing how you intend to implement the functional electrical
/electronic requirements.

- Circuit diagrams & operating instructions (e.g. Word document, max 2 sides of A4)
- Flow diagrams showing functional interactions.

Self-Appraisal
You should complete a Sprint 2 CDP04 self-appraisal form as a personal summary of your project outcomes.

What to submit
- CDP04 self-appraisal form.

Hello please find attached the zip folder with all the requirements of the project, and also a few examples and lecture material. The full project is about a rocket design to carry an egg size inside of the rocket starting from the design, material cost, electrical components to monitorize the altitude speed and all the values. The project is split in two for submitting a bit of work on the first-semester spring 1 and the full complete project at the end of the year.
