In relation to the following topic you need to undertake a systematic examination of the literature:
‘Identify the major milestones in the development of the contemporary sport business and management industry' [MSc Sport Business, Management and Policy]
Part B: Essay - 2500 words

You should carry this assignment in 2 stages:
Stage 1 - A systematic examination of the Literature (secondary sources) Present this information in a table and this will form Part A of your Portfolio.
This will allow you to scope, screen, plan, identify eligible sources and construct the themes for the next stage of the assignment. These should be referenced in the MMU Harvard style https://libguides.mmu.ac.uk/ld.php?content_id=24887261.
Your ability to reference and underpin your work will form part of the assessment.
The type of literature and your handling of the information it contains is crucial to any literature review and its analysis. Within your analysis, you must consider the relevance, validity and reliability of information as it plays an important role in providing the academic grounding needed in this instance. Your understanding of the literature plays a vital role in determining the strength of any argument regardless of whether it is for academic or professional purposes. The output for this should be presented in a spreadsheet.
Stage 2 - Essay (Part B of the Portfolio)
• You must identify, locate and utilise SECONDARY evidence and data to ground, support and underpin your evaluation. Please note you are NOT to collect primary data.
• You must use the information and knowledge gained from the literature review to ground and underpin your analysis and evaluation.
• Your conclusion must include three focused and underpinned research questions
• These must be critically derived from your discussion and conclusions. State what these research questions will contribute to the debate in your field of study.
