Question- The answer to a post-lab question in Expt #10 indicates that the relative suspectibility of a hydrogen atom to chlorination was dependent on the degree of substitution at the carbon to which it was bound. Both the 1, 2- and 1, 3-dichlorobutane products involve secondary structures. Account for the differences between the two found in this exercise.
