  Design Goals

  Implementation

Once an operating system is designed, it should be implemented. Conventionally operating systems have been written in an assembly language. Now though they are written in higher- level languages such as C/ C++ since these permit the code to be written more compact,  much faster, easier to understand and easier to port.
