h-Parameters
To determine the four h-parameters of transistor amplifier, input and output characteristic are used. The input characteristic depicts relationship in between input voltage and input current with output voltage as parameter. The output characteristic depicts relationship in between output voltage and output current with input current as parameter. Figure 1, shows output characteristics of CE amplifier.

The value of hoe at quiescent operating point can be given by the slope of output characteristic at the operating point (that is slope of tangent AB).

hie is slope of the suitable input on figure 2, at operating point (slope of the tangent EF at Q).
