Extraction of Metals: Metallurgy
The extraction of a pure metal from its ore is termed as metallurgy. In order to extract metal from ores, number of physical and chemical methods is used. The method used depending upon the chemical properties and nature of the ore from which it is to be extracted. It includes four main steps,

(2) Concentration and dressing of the ore.
(3) Reduction to free the metal.
(4) Purification and refining of the metal.
