Logic gates
A logic gate is idealize or physical device executing a Boolean method, that is, it performs a logical operation on single or more logic inputs and gives a single logic output. Relaying on the context, the term can refer to an ideal logic gate, one that has for unlimited fan-out and instance zero rise time, or it may refer to a non-ideal physical device.
Logic gates are primarily derived using diodes or transistors behaving as electronic switches, but may also be derived using electromagnetic relays (relay logic), pneumatic logic, fluidic logic, optics, molecules, or even mechanical components. With amplification, logic gates may be cascaded in the similar way that Boolean functions may be composed, giving the construction of a physical model of all of Boolean logic circuit, and therefore, all of the functions and algorithms that may be defined with Boolean logic.
Digital systems are constructed by using logic gates. These gates are the OR, EXOR, NOT, NAND, AND, NOR, and EXNOR gates. The basic operations are described as follows with the help of truth tables.
