Current Divider Rule (CDR)
Current divider rule gives a useful relationship for determining the current through individual circuit elements which are connected in parallel. For the circuit shown in Figure, the current through each resistor is evaluated by using the following formulae
Notice difference between VDR and CDR (for 2 resistors) in terms of resistor value in the numerators. In order to generalise CDR for n number of resistors, conductance parameter is used. Thus to find the current through ith of n resistors connected in parallel, the following relationship can be taken in use
The above equation has same form as generalised VDR with R replaced by G and voltages replaced by the current variables
