Cultural Intelligence (CQ) is the power to cope with corporate, national and vocational cultures as reported by Elaine Mosakowski and Christopher Earley in HBR of October 2004. CQ is the power to realize unfamiliar contexts and then to adjust. They depicted three sources of Cultural Intelligence.

Three sources of Cultural Intelligence

•   The Head or Cognitive. Rote learning regarding the habits, taboos and beliefs of foreign cultures, will not work substantially.
•   The Body or Physical. You will not unarm your foreign guests, colleagues or hosts just by depicting you realize their culture, your demeanor and actions must show that you already have some level entered their world.
•    The Heart or Emotional or motivational. To conform to a new culture calls for overcoming setbacks and obstacles.

While it parts many of the attributes of emotional intelligence, Cultural Intelligence extends one step further through outfitting a person to distinguish conducts produced by the culture in question from conducts that are peculiar to specific individuals and those found in all human beings.       '

Significance of Cultural Intelligence

Why Cultural Intelligence?
