  • "I was in New York for my studies, when one fine day my father called up and askedme for marriage. I was in 2nd yr of my MBA and had no intention to get married that time, soI said no but he forced me to meet the guy and his family. Later in the week, he visited ourhome along with his entire family, And just after meeting for half an hour, they said yes forthe marriage. And assured me that they had no issues with my Event industry job. After a week I got a call from him and we start talking to each other. I was busy in mystudies and event training because of which I had travel a lot out of town, But he would callme irrespective of my busy schedule.Later he started to put some obligations on me as welllike: He didn't like me travel for work or talking to other guys etc. And when I use to protest,he uses to send me gifts to compensate for his behaviour. This continued for few weeks andafter a month or so, I finally gave in and called my parents to explain them the wholesituation. I was hoping to convince my parents to call off the wedding altogether. And for myfuture's sake, they did exactly as I had requested them. But that guy didn't stop there. After a week of this incident, he reached my college in New York and started askingeveryone about me. Irritated by his behaviour my faculty and management gave him myaddress. Then the next thing I know is that he was standing out side my door step, that scenetook me by shock and scared me to my bones. However, after few minutes I tried to composemyself and took the courage to ask him the reason for his visit. He replied in a very emotionaland desperate tone, that he wanted to discuss something with me before ending our few weeklong relationships. Worried about the reaction of my flatmates and landlord, I asked him to wait for mein a nearby cafe. Frankly speaking at that moment I just wanted him to leave my sight. Butwhen I thought about It, I decided to give him one more chance. So, I called up few of my guy friends and when to the cafe with them. However, Ientered the cafe alone, because I thought to try and explain him my point of view first. towhich he told me that all the adults didn't talk about my work profile in details, because ofwhich he wasn't aware of all the travel and late working hours. As a solution, he asked me tochange the industry and still marry him. To which I tried to explain to him how much I lovedmy job and my work. And that our relationship would not have worked anyway, cause wedon't understand each other's point of view. After which he understood my point and justwalked out of the cafe. As a conclusion to my high frustration incident, I understood one that i.e any problemcan be solved by simple communication. All we need to do is talk and explain our point ofview to each other and that is one thing that we humans forget in times like this, we forget tobridge our gaps and difference and rather just sulk on the issues. Two years ago I and one of my college friend started working for an Institute ascounsellors and administrator. During which I had experienced a lot of moments wherecommunication had helped me a lot. Like me and my friend, we use to disagree on a lot of topics related to work and evenget into fights for the same. But just by talking and spending time, we would easily solve ourissues. The best thing that happened in the whole process is that I was able to develop a muchstronger relationship with my friend and our friendship became stronger with each fight andeach discussion. I am really glad that I got a chance to experience all those fights and lovethat I shared with my friend. It had definitely brought me closer to her. "
