Sheng Siong isprincipally engaged in operating the Sheng Siong Groceries Chain, in 38 locations all acrossSingapore as at June 2015. The stores are primarily located in retail locations in the heartlandsof Singapore, and designed to provide its customers with both “wet and dry” shopping options,including a wide assortment of live, fresh and chilled produce, such as seafood, meat andvegetables, in addition to processed, packaged and/or preserved food products as well asgeneral merchandise such as toiletries and essential household products. Sheng Siong has alsodeveloped a selection of housebrands to offer its customers quality alternatives to nationalbrands at substantial savings. As of April 2015, the company offer over 400 products under its10 housebrands. To support the retail operations, Sheng Siong has an extensive distributionnetwork, food-processing facilities, and warehousing facilities.In May 2011, the company completed the construction of itsr new corporate headquarters andwarehousing and distribution centre at Mandai Link, at an estimated cost of up to S$65 million.In March 2013, the company also received the HACCP certification for our processing of fish,seafood, meat and vegetables from the receiving of raw materials, storage, processing, packingand transportation of finished products. The company’s repackaging of dried food from thereceiving of raw materials, storage, repacking and transportation of finished products, as wellas the receiving, storage and transportation of frozen food and fruits were also HACCP- certified. Sheng Siong was also awarded the inaugural Singapore Productivity Awards inOctober 2014, by the Singapore Business Federation. On 31 December 2014, the Group wasrecognised for achieving commendable performance in business excellence, and was awardedthe “Singapore Quality Class” certification by SPRING Singapore, which is valid for three yearsfrom January 2015 to December 2017.Student ID: 1527042/18 "
