The study used data which are collectedthrough questionnaires, oral interviews and focus group discussion. The research depictednegative impacts of domestic violence against children in the victim‘s education. The study alsounveiled that domestic violence against schooling children harms them emotionally,psychologically and physically. In the long run, this hinders the victims‘ learning process inmany ways, such as losing interest in education. It adds knowledge to the awareness of therelationship between domestic violence against children and victims‘ education. BACKGROUNDChild abuse has for a long time been recorded in literature, art and science in many parts of theworld. Reports of infanticide, mutilation, abandonment and other forms of violence againstchildren date back to ancient civilizations..now there is clear evidence that child abuse is a globalproblem. It occurs in a variety of forms and is deeply rooted in many cultural, economic andsocial practices. Solving this global problem, requires a much better understanding of itsoccurrence.While support for democracy as a governing system remains high in many countries, butincreasing insecurity from crime and violence has led to decline in democratic legitimacy, thesuspension of democratic rights and freedoms.there is a need to move to a more ethical andholistic preventative approach rather than repression and reaction as the default option. As we all know that Domestic violence can impact anyone, regardless of their gender, race, age,culture or religion. However, most often women and children are the victims of domesticviolence. Most studies focused on women as victims of domestic violence, but this study lidemphasis on children as victims of domestic violence. Also, it can occur in many forms likeemotional abuse, psychological violence, neglect, physical assault, witnessing physical violenceand sexual assault. And then Children‘s exposure to this form of violence has considerablepotential to be perceived as life threatening by those victimized and leave them with a sense ofvulnerability, hopelessness, psychological disorders and emotional threats. Which ends upaffecting their academic lives.Violence against children in the home and family has been condemned by many organizations.For example, United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Childand African countries tookan initiative in protecting children‘s rights, called as Children‘s CharterPURPOSE OF THE STUDYA key objective of the study was to broaden our understanding of how best to engage children inthis type of research. Particular attention is paid to the process of engaging and interviewingvulnerable children, and provides a unique perspective. The aim of the research were to identify: • The impact on children of witnessing domestic violence• The nature, scope and adequacy of domestic violence services for children.PROCESS This study has provided a forum for children to tell their stories about domestic violence andprovides considerable detail on how children can be successfully engaged in understanding the whole concept. Children‘s capacity to reflect on their experiences was evidenced in this study.Accessing and utilizing such reflections requires careful consideration. The importance ofincluding children in it as active subjects rather than passive objects is now recognized.RESEARCH QUESTIONS To address the problem of this study, three research questionnaires raised. They are:1. Children‘s Responses to Domestic ViolenceQ: How do children react to domestic violence?Q: What are some typical short-term responses?Q: What are the factors that help children recover?2. From Parent to Child: Support and Communication about Domestic ViolenceQ: What should parents tell their children about domestic violence?3. Protecting Children and Coping with their Feelings and BehaviorsQ: What are some strategies for managing children‘s behaviors that may occur in families withdomestic violence?Q:What istrauma and how does it affect children?Methods Methodologically, study employed qualitative in-depth interviews. A. Try to reflect three distinct (if small) subgroups of children(Children): B. children aged between 5 and 11 years (both female and male)C. children aged between 12 and 17 years ( female, male)D. children (young adults)aged between 18 and 21 years (both female,male)try to reflect their childhood lives growing up with domestic violence.B. Conduct an Interview of about 60-120 minutes. Record all of the interviewsand transcribeand also change the names and identifying information to ensure anonymity.However, it‘s believed that this process of carrying out the interviews with the children and thestories they shared with you, make an important contribution to the developing literature andpolicy frameworks related to children who live with domestic violence.C. Questionnaires, oral interviews and focus group discussion were used as instruments for datacollection. The questionnaire was preferred because of its suitability to this study. It was suitable as amethod of data collection because it allows the researcher to reach a larger sample within limitedtime. Interviews were preferred because they help to cooperate with respondents and establish arapport with them. Face to face interviews allow the interviewer to deeply explore therespondents‘ feelings and perspectives.Finally, focus group discussions were chosen to allow for a more extensive exploration of thetopic under study. Focus group discussions complemented the questionnaire and allowed theresearcher to probe more into the issue."
