As we can easily make out the work involved in this sector is highlycomplicated in nature and requires skilled workers with quality of patient care and efficientutilisation of resources.The strategies and style of leadership and management should beappropriate. The four parts of the assignment deals with this of managing human resource forthe health and social care sector. It also deals with the factors that influence the recruitmentdecisions and teamwork of the recruits.It also talks about the ways and manner throughwhich these recruits can be managed and developed. Health and Social care majorly includespsychiatry, different kinds of therapists, paramedics, doctors, nurses et al. Due to its widerexpanse through several fields with the inclusion of community services, it is often referredto as Human Services, for a simpler understanding. To understand the relevance andfunctioning of this particular sector, we might want to look at certain basic questions andmake an effort to unpack them3 Task 1As a HR manager of a private nursing home, I need to recruit director of nursing.For this purpose, I need to list down the criteria that would be used and make anappropriate job description.Starting with the job description, it is to be noted that a Director of Nursing, the personrecruited will be responsible for the communication between the nursing staff and physiciansof the facility. He/she needs to have some experience and strong leadership as well as theability to run and lead a group. There are basically many factors that need to be consideredbefore recruitment of any employee to such an organization. Especially, when it comes to therecruitment to such an important post there is also a very important issue is how to retainthese high skilled workers associated with the firm. It is also important that the recruitmentads are properly advertised through various mediums like newspaper, magazines, televisionand internet so that relevant information is being passed on to all.(Den Adel et al, 2004).As this job requires a personal with high skills and knowledge it is very important that thisperson has some previous experience, that too really good experience in their respectivefields. It is very important that the recruits who would be responsible for the work are awareof the national health and social care policy legislation as well as the national targets. Therecruit candidate or nurse should be familiar with 6C’s principle of nursing and be a person ofdiscipline and ethics who would not allow anything bad to take place. (Buchan, 2000)It is also very important that there is complete transparency when it comes to the recruitmentprocess and any kind of favouritism should be avoided and if still it persists it should beredressed immediately. There are also various legislative policies and framework that determines or guides therecruiters regarding the process and recruits. These laws and policies should be taken intoconsideration by every organization especially when it is related to health and social sector.This kind of job opportunities requires that there be proper legislative policies implemented.The Equal Opportunity Law is the one that needs to be addressed at any cost. This legislationis very important to make sure that when the recruitment takes place there is no bias in thewhole process with regards to difference in age, sex, race or culture. Every person who iseligible for the job and satisfies every criterion then they need to be treated equally and givenequal chance for the same.
