I know you might be thinking whyEnglish teacher when a number of fields are out there, waiting for youwith highly paid salaries and a lot of facilities. Though it is a low-paid jobbut it gives you the freedom of sharing your knowledge with others. Whya teacher of English language? English is considered as the global linguafranca. It is the language of communication in a number of countries andas well as the language of cross-border business. Being a Pakistani and an Urdu speaker, it was necessary forme to learn English language as it was considered as the official languageof Pakistan along with Urdu. So, I made English as my second officiallanguage. I developed my interest in reading story books in English andtried to understand every single word use in it. I really enjoyed listening toEnglish songs. In the beginning, it was really hard to understand the lyrics.But gradually I started to understand individual words. I learned everynew English word I met and found great improvement in my readingability. I started feeling myself closer to my goal. That moment was abreakthrough in my life.As it was my dream of becoming an English teacher. So, Ichose English literature as my subject. I had great skills of both writingand reading that was really necessary for a student doing his Master’sDegree in English literature. I started giving more importance to creative work rather than cramming things. And all these things made my workmore polished and effective.All these things have made a great change in my life. Now Iam a person, who has full command on his second language. I am able topublish my own materials, without any language barrier. I feel nohesitation in communicating with others in English anymore. Now I’m notjust a good writer but also a good speaker. Now I feel free!I haveachieved the goal that I had set for myself. Now I’m working as a seniorinstructor of English literature under a government institution with a well- paid salary.English has given me so much satisfaction and I found it souseful in pursuing my career. I have decided to share my experiences andmy methods with other people. Whenever I have free time, I try to helppeople to learn English with pleasure as so get so satisfaction from thisprocess. Always try to fulfill your dreams, no matter how hard they are.Give your hundred percent to the work that would help you in achievingyour goal.
