The system had a singledynamo which supplies current to 247 lamps at a voltage of 10 V d.c. The power system with230Volts, 60 hertz was introduced during the World War 1 into naval vessels. After thatship’s electrical system were continuously improving which further includes the use of 4,160V of power systems. On navy vessels, fuses are considered to be one of the protective devicesused in electrical power systems. The first electronic solid state device over the current protective device was used bythe Navy which had the power system of 4,160. Today electrical energy is supplied tosophisticated weapons systems, communication systems, and operational systems by theNavy systems. The navy system makes use of fuses, protective relay, and circuit breakers tomaintain the energy availability to the connected loads which keeps the system operational.Figure 1Figure1 represents three generators in aring configuration. In this, for normal operation twoof the generators are generally used for normal operation whereas the remaining generatorwill provide the emergency supply. For transfer of power from one switchboard to another, Bus tie circuits which are interconnected to the generator switchboards are used. But ingeneral, the Navy distribution system has transformers, power panels, switchboards, bustransfer units and interconnecting cables which are used for delivering power to the loads. A shipboard electrical distribution system has a load that requires power at 440, 115, and4,160 Volts at 60 Hertz, 440 hertz, and 400 Hertz. The loads which require 400 hertz aregenerally the part of the command surveillance systems, weapons systems, and aircraft andaviation support equipment. The load which is associated with aircraft carriers is 4,160 Volts.The interface which is used between 60 hertz and 400 hertz systems can be either motor- generator sets or static solid-state frequency converters. "
