It was not completely related with thecondition of the Leah as it focused mainly on old participant including both the genders.Part A:1. a. Authors were well qualified and expert related to the study on Weight loss performed by them.The author had an experience of dealing with weight-loss patients.b. There was no conflict of interest between the author and the study findings. Weight loss istough but can be done with the help and support of exercise, social support, and self-monitoring.Further study on social and spousal support would help in weight loss management decisions.2. a. The aim of the research was to investigate the experiences of dieters who lose their weight butwere not involved in any research earlier. The author wanted to get the thorough details of theindividual’s experience during their weight loss journey in a real manner and to get the accurate WEIGHT LOSS3 data for the same as nothing was present in the literature so far related to the qualitative analysisof weight loss.b. As per the author, there was enough of literature based on the quantitative methods on theweight management which was not sufficient to disclose the difficulties faced by the individualswho undergone weight loss. There were fewer facts available in the literature based on thequalitative aspects of the weight loss. Samples were obtained from the weight managementintervention studies. Because of this, weight loss part of the journey was not known properly.The author wanted to have the qualitative data of the individuals who were never undergone anyresearch based study earlier related to the weight loss.3.a. Realist meta-theory was used in this study which needs the detailed information about thethinking of the participants, their objectives in reality, experience, and their opinion. To conductthis method of study, ethical approval was also taken from the University’s ethical committee.Sampling and data saturation was done to have the unbiased results. An interview guide wasdeveloped from the vast literature available and the interviews were conducted face to face.Interviews were recorded in a silent place with the means of a digital recording device. Audiofiles were then saved into hard drives which were password protected and confidentiality of theparticipants was ensured at the same time. Framework analysis was used to analyze the datathematically. To reduce the biasedness and increase the dependability, colleagues verified thecodes and theoretical framework.b. Because the aim of the study was to have the qualitative data on the participants who were notundergone any research based study earlier, the methods were quite accurate to get the relevantand sufficient data without compromising the individuality of the participants. The author did all WEIGHT LOSS4 the available methods to reduce the biasedness and he did sampling to exclude the effect of anydependant variable on the weight loss effect such as he sent the individuals to the gym or inswimming who were not involved in such activities earlier.c. There were eight participants who were white citizens from British with the age of 40±10years. Out of eight, three had taken an education program for weight loss in last two years. Twoof them were involved in swimming at a commercial level. Two had consulted a registerednutritionist and one was an athlete earlier. Two participants have not taken any consultation fromthe registered nutritionist and completed their weight loss journey on their own without anysupport. Four participants were trying to lose their weight while the rest four were maintainingtheir weight loss levels during the time of the study. 4.a. Results showed that the participants had faced different obstructions and facilitators duringtheir weight loss study. The author tried to get the most suitable qualitative data by keeping allthe positive and negative aspects in mind. Participants had faced social pressure, environmentalproblems, dichotomous thinking and weight centeredness as the negative aspects of their weightloss journey. At the same time, knowledge, exercise, social support, readiness to change and self- monitoring help them in the positive manner to lose their weight. The study shows the positiveresults in weight loss. Participants felt the facilitators more helpful as compared to theobstructions in their weight loss journey. Strengths:Confidentiality was maintained and all the data were stored in password protected files.Participants were chosen with different background and during the study, all were exposed toone or the other activity which was never performed by them earlier. WEIGHT LOSS5 Weakness:Social support was not completely elaborated during the study. Hence, they need to study itfurther. (David Rogerson, 2016)Part B:1. Her age will be the big hurdle as the study was not done in the young participants.2. The research focused mainly on the old participants including both the genders. PICO questionwas especially for the young women.Evaluation (Share et al. 2015):The study was initiated, performed and completed which were best suited to the condition ofLeh. Proper grouping, accurate measurement and regular follow-ups were taken. If they couldjustify the decrease in cardiovascular disorder risk in the wait-list group, then this study would bethe most beneficial one.Part A:1.a. All the authors were well qualified and were in the field of health and research. b. No, there is no conflict. Findings of the study also showed the similar results as per theaim/hypothesis of the authors. 2.a. The study was initiated with two aims. The primary one was to evaluate the efficiency oflifestyle interference with the means of randomized controlled trial design in young womenhaving abdominal obesity to decrease the risk of Cardiovascular disorders.
