The coupon yield is just the coupon payment as a percentage of the face value.

Coupon yield = Coupon payment /Percentage of the face value

It can be written as

Coupon yield = C / F

Coupon yield is referred as called nominal yield. A coupon payment on a bond is a periodical interest payment that the bondholder obtains during the time between when the bond is issued and when it matures.
